PGTCA offers to its membership an advanced teaching training program. The Master PGTCA Certification course is designed to assist PGTCA members who want to further advance their teaching skills and career opportunities. Becoming a Master PGTCA Professional will enhance your golf teaching performance and accelerate your skills. Participants in the program must be a member in good standing for a 12-month period prior to enrollment. The course format is similar to previous Certification Courses with an emphasis on video analysis and detailed faults and fixes. Like your original 6 Day Certification Course; accommodations, green fees, cart fees, training, driving range usage, books and materials and banquet dinner, are all included.The first two days will be spent on video camera and VCR operations, camera positioning and background, and detailed video analysis of the full swing and short game. Students will get detailed analysis of how to build power and consistency in their student’s games.
PGTCA Master Teachers will be taught how to produce a student take home videos. This will be a valuable tool and reference for students to execute their lessons and drills. This will set you apart from most all other golf teachers and coaches in the industry.The second two days you will be taught faults and fixes in a much greater detail than the 6 Day Certification Course. Training will cover the art of spotting the primary fault, identifying fixes to correct the swing, choosing the correct drills for the fix, and using the correct training aids for the student in all facets of the game.
The last two days will be spent on exams. A Players Ability Test must be passed (a score of 160 must be shot for the two days to receive a passing grade of 70%). A written test on faults, fixes and training aids, along with a 30-minute oral video analysis presentation will conclude the course.
